Which data warehouses does Datacoves support?

Any warehouse with a dbt adapter: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, MS Fabric, Synapse, Oracle, Teradata, DuckDB, ClickHouse, and more.

Is Datacoves optimized for Snowflake?

Yes, while all dbt adapters are supported, Datacoves is built to shine with Snowflake, with ready-to-use security scripts, tailored macros, and streamlined setup.

Does Datacoves support Private Link?

Yes, Datacoves enables secure deployment within your network with PrivateLink connections to your warehouse.

Can we switch data warehouses after implementing Datacoves?

Yes. Because Datacoves is built on dbt Core, switching warehouses involves changing the dbt adapter and updating connection profiles. There is no Datacoves-specific migration process. Teams that have moved from Redshift to Snowflake, or from BigQuery to Databricks, have done so without re-architecting their Datacoves environment.

How does Datacoves securely connect to our warehouse?

Datacoves supports several secure connection methods: PrivateLink for private network routing without public internet exposure, service accounts with scoped credentials, and connection templates that simplify developer authentication without exposing raw credentials. For private cloud deployments, the entire Datacoves environment and warehouse connection stay within your firewall.

We use Databricks. Does Datacoves work well with it?

Yes. Datacoves supports the Databricks dbt adapter and can orchestrate Databricks notebooks and jobs via Airflow alongside dbt transformations. Databricks can also serve as an ingestion layer via BYOIT (Bring Your Own Ingestion Tool), enabling an end-to-end pipeline on Databricks infrastructure managed through Datacoves.

What makes Datacoves a better choice than running dbt natively on Snowflake or Databricks?

Native dbt integrations on Snowflake or Databricks provide transformation capabilities but not orchestration, governance, or a development environment. Datacoves adds managed Airflow for scheduling and dependency management, VS Code in the browser for development, CI/CD pipelines for testing, and a data catalog for governance, all without requiring your team to set any of this up themselves. Organizations also find the dbt within data platform providers is typically limited and not as full featured.

Why do enterprises trust Datacoves for managing data?

“Datacoves enabled us to reduce time to market by delivering a secure pre-configured environment for dozens of Analytics Engineers and to implement best-in-class DataOps processes on a dbt and Snowflake foundation”
